In 2008, Monique moved to San Francisco to immerse herself in startup culture. A few years later in 2011, she co-founded Black Founders to increase the number of successful black entrepreneurs in tech around the USA with programming in NYC, Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, and several HBCU campuses. After 15+ years as both an entrepreneur and operating roles across consumer internet (e-commerce, video-on-demand, media) and government technology, she started investing. In 2016, Monique joined 500 Startups as a Venture Partner where she invested in pre-seed and seed stage companies in the US and sub-Saharan Africa. After 2 years there, she is now working on another exciting opportunity.
